The height of our our panning sluice ranges from 30 inches at the lowest point up to 40 inches. Most 4 year old miners should be able to stand on their own to reach the sluice in our lowest area. The sluice height gets gradually taller as you move around the Minecarts. We have stools available as well to help the littler youngins reach to enjoy panning or to give taller minor miners more options along the sluice.
If you have younger critters you are welcome to lift and help them search for treasures if needed. Please try to avoid having children stand on the Minecart wheels.
Yes! We have shade umbrellas you may use when it’s extra hot, just let us know and we’ll open them up for you. We also have shaded picnic tables to relax at while others are panning. For your safety and the safety of our equipment the umbrellas will not be opened if it’s windy.
Yes! We built our minecart panning sluice with accessibility in mind. There is an area at the front of our Minecarts designed for guests with ADA needs. This area has an extended sluice section for wheelchair clearance and is equipped with a 48″ wide access ramp. We also have a wooden platform we can put in place on our platform for children in wheelchairs.
*Please note, our grounds consist of hard packed grass and gravel, folks seem to be able to get around ok on it.
We are on main street with general parking consisting of a few dozen regular sized parking spaces within a block of our attraction. Parking availability will depend on what’s going on in town, if there is a special event like the Saturday farmers market there may be less parking available. Please utilize the crosswalks if you park on the other side of Main St., people generally will not stop for you if you aren’t at a crosswalk.
Large Vehicle Parking
If you are towing a trailer or traveling in an RV there are a couple of parking areas very near by on the side streets that should accommodate your rig. We recommend parking alongside the road on either East or West 2nd street which is half a block from us.
Most certainly! Our attraction is lots of fun for field trips! It’s been a huge hit with our local schools.
Learn about geology, panning practices, gold panning, and more! We have a map sign on site that shows where we source our treasures from all over the world.
Every field trip attendee gets a 1 lb bag of starter gemstone paydirt and an info card to look up and learn about their treasures.
We offer a special rate for field trips, reach out via our contact page or give us a call to set up your outing.
Yes, we welcome well behaved dogs. You as the dog owner holds full responsibility for the behavior and wellbeing of your dog. You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog.
We make every effort to do our part to keep our planet healthy. All electricity we use is solar generated and we reuse our dirt, and filter and reuse our water. We encourage our guests to return their paydirt bags and bag ties once finishing their panning so that we may reuse them for future guests.9-
